Version (B) »LORD KING« LOGO ... ( 24 cm x 20 cm )
Version (A) » MEISTER ANKER « by QUELLE-VERSAND, Fuerth / Germany
==================================================================
The world map is shown in "North Polar Projection", GMT is on top.
This "tic-tac" clock has a "balanced spring" mechanic. A battery
powered motor winds up the main spring every 8 minutes. A 12 HOUR
FACE shows the LOCAL TIME. An AIRPLANE, circeling the globe, shows
the SECONDS. The outer ring with 24 HOURS shows the time in WORLD
CITIES with DAY & NIGHT.
Detail: Part of the clockwork is a mechanical timer, which
------- activates the electrical contact to power the motor.
The contacts are simple and have to be cleaned every quarter.
This WorldClock came in a nice teak/alu/acryl/glass housing. After
3 years the motor broke and had to be repaired - and after 7 years
a PLASTIC GEAR broke - OhOh! - But lucky - In the meantime I found
THE SAME MODEL sold as » LORD KING « - BUT I had to go through the
same cycle of MOTOR REPAIRING AFTER 3 YEARS ...
Have a look at the REPAIR Procedures ...
The » MEISTER ANKER « Story continued in 2014 ...
------------------------------------------------------------------
I found another » MEISTER ANKER « "AS-IS", not working & cheap.
I took the best parts out of each and made a working "1-Out-Of-2".
Now my friend on the other side of the globe uses this WorldClock:
Both we prevent so telephone calls in the partner's sleeping time.
powered by a 1.5 Volt D-Cell
