VERSION (A)
***********
This old model is made of mahogany with scales on celluloid
veneer. For the manufacturer the engravements in the bottom
»D&P« and »29« could be interpreted as "Dennert & Pape"
and "1929". Ref. to the print on the back side and on its
leather cover, this old Pocket Slide Rule was a gift from
the constructor company » WAYSS & FREYTAG A.-G., DRESDEN «
well known for their engagement in reinforced concrete.
Because the original cursor was missing, there is a home-
made of aluminum with a window of PVC from a CD case. The
hairline is made with a »X-ACTO« and colored with a marker.
Historical Remarks ...
VERSION (B)
***********
There is NO Year Code - The engravement in the bottom reads
» DENNERT & PAPE ALTONA « The CURSOR has a print »PERTODO«
May be the Pocket SR was a gift from this company ?
The picture from the side shows construction details: The
mahogany strips are glued on the celluloid base - and the
glass of a "Frameless Cursor" has grooves for the clips ...
... The SCALES got EXTENTIONS in RED right and left
and have lost the historical "Ladder" pattern.
