The »PRINCESS« was designed to fit on a bedside table. It has
a night light feature ( illuminated keyboard ), but the 6.3 V light
bulb requires an EXTERNAL TRANSFORMER, plugged into an outlet.
The LIGHT-BULB sits in a HOLDER and is accessable from the bottom
by the turn of a penny ...
There is an ON/OFF switch for the lamp on the back side and the
ringer volume can be dimmed with a switch on the bottom side.
2nd picture: There was a silver hand-set-cover available for it.
In 1959 the DIAL Model »PRINCESS« was introduced by BELL SYSTEM ...
Have a look at the ROTARY DIAL VERSION ...
Henry Dreyfuss (1904-1972), a celebrated industrial designer, gave
the 302, 500, PRINCESS & TRIMLINE their style - He also designed
JohnDeere tractors, Hoover vacuum cleaners, and streamlined trains.
Historical Remarks ...

2 = A B C 5 = J K L 8 = T U V
3 = D E F 6 = M N O 9 = W X Y
-------------------------------------------------------------------
EXAMPLE: Dial A-T-L-A-N-T-I-S = 28526847 ==>> »ATLANTIS« Hotel
REMARK TO RESTORATION:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The 1965 PRINCESS has the same keyboard as the "Red Telephone" ...
If you got a touch tone telephone and all is working well (eg. bell,
communication) except the KEYBOARD doesn't react, TRY THIS: The KBD
is sensitive to the polarity of the incomming wires. Exchange the
wires ( RED, GREEN ) either in the outlet, or in the telephone.
