The calculator came blocked. Only moving was the (left) Counter-Clear-Lever (L) BUT WITH NO EFFECT ! HOW TO OPEN THE MANUS-R: ************************ Remove all RED/WHITE LEVER-CAPS, the GREEN COVERS, the [ 1 2 ... 8 ] FRONT-PLATE & the 2 TRIANGLES underneath. (see below) Then remove the CARRIAGE-SPRING behind the carriage. Now the carriage can be taken out for inspection: OhOh! The blocked counter was forced with the clear-lever (L) until the bonding of the gear (B) was sheared-off from its axle (A) TAKING THE GEARS APART: *********************** Remove the right CLEAR-LEVER (R). The CLEAR-GEAR-UNITS (CC = Counter) & (CA = Arithmetic) have 3 FIX-POINTS: left (= FL) + middle (=FM) + right (= FR). With a 90° DOWN-TURN of the 3 fix-points both units (CC) & (CA) and (FM) can be taken out. Now the CLEAR-LEVER-AXLE (A) can be pulled out, because the bonding (A/B) is missing ... |
REASSEMBLING CLEAR-AXLE (A):

The "Broken Pieces" in the (A/B) connection removed,
DISPLAY-GEARS (DC = Counter) & (DA = Arithmetic),
also Washers, Distance-Pieces, PART (X) & GEAR (B)
had to be placed in the right sequence on the axle (A).
After TRIAL & ERROR until "free spinning"
a new "Bond-Nail" could be inserted in (B).
INSTALLATION OF THE CLEAR-GEARS (CC) & (CA):

Install all of the RIGHT CLEAR-LEVER (R).
Set the DISPLAY WHEELS (DC = Counter) & (DA = Arithmetic)
TO ZERO and the TWIN-DELETE-LEVERS (L) & (R) UPRIGHT.
Insert CLEAR-GEARS (CC=Counter) & (CA=Arithmetic) w. (FM) so,
that their "GAPS" are facing the DISPLAY-GEARS (DC) & (DA).
LOCK the FIXPOINTS (FL), (FM) & (FR) with 90° UP-TURN.
The positions are OK, when the DISPLAY-GEARS are movable
AND
the PULL OF THE CLEAR-LEVERS bring the DISPLAYS to ZERO.

... WOW! The HAMANN MANUS-R works again ...
