CHELSEA 24 HOUR MILITARY CLOCK Boston, Massachusetts / USA (1940)
*******************************************************************
This bakelite clock has a 24 HOUR FACE: The short HOUR HAND has to
be read first ( 00 .. 23 ); the long MINUTE HAND & the SECOND HAND
read as usual. The clock has no chime. It was made in WWII for the
US GOVERNMENT. FULL WIND-UP it runs more than 2 WEEKS! The SPECIAL
WINDER has a stylus on the other end for the "AdjustmentWheel" in
the (+/-)Window ...
A 2nd MODEL ( SN = 84807E ) was made for the U.S. NAVY ...
Now my friend on the other side of the globe uses the "US-GOV." as
"BERLIN"-Time - And me, the 2nd "US-NAVY", in Berlin as "SFO"-Time.
Both we prevent so telephone calls in the partner's sleeping time.
