It needed maintenance: Cleaning !!! Some cables and connections were broken or corroded; the ringer was not connected right and had to be adjusted. To make it work in your application, YOU MAY NEED A "PULSE-TO-TONE-CONVERTER"... R E M A R K S T O R E S T O R A T I O N ... ===================================================================== HOW TO REPAIR THE OLD COIL-CORD CONNECTIONS: For flexibility, every "ONE" of the 3 wires consist of many threads of thin wires, wound around cotton strings and there are more plain cotton strings for durability. There is no way to solder these wires. Cut the damaged cable away. Remove 2" of the outer and 1/2" of the inner insulation. Carefully separate the "wire strings" from the plain cotton strings. Cut the cotton strings away and fold the wire strings back parallel to their insulation. Than press it in the OLD, UNFOLDED & CLEANED metal hook connector to have the electric contact.
