This unusual, interesting instrument was a gift.  Stored 30 years in a
basement, it looked bad and also the POINTER WAS LOCKED. To get access
4 rivet-like screws,  holding the metal cover,  had to be removed from
its back-side.  It turned out,  that the BODY is made out of  WOOD(!).
The pointer's AXLE WAS SHRUNKEN  and fallen out of its bearing.  After
careful adjustments & benting,  the TEST was successful!  Cleaning ...
Next steps: Removed shattered varnish; sanding; blackened with marker;
waxed the surface; poolished ... WOW!
