Field Multi-Meter » METRAVO « METRAWATT A.G. / Germany (1960)
***********************************************************************
Dimension ( W-D-H ) 85 mm x 118 mm x 42 mm / 3_3/8" x 4_5/8" x 1_5/8"
DC/AC Class 2 1.8 mA .. 6 A / 6 V .. 600 V / 0 .. 100 kΩ
DC 100 μA / 60 mV / 0 .. 600 LUX-Scale
< Ri(I) = 30 Ω at 1.8 mA >
The USER's MANUAL is made in the same size & shape as the instrument !
Ampere- & Volt-Scale are LOGARITHMIC (!) It was a "futuristic design"
in the '60s, because it needs NO BATTERY for the resistance test: It
had a build-in SOLAR-CELL and it could also be used as a LUX-Meter.
SORRY: In 2011 the build-in SELEN CELL is dead - Made an EXPERIMENT:
Exchange the SELEN CELL (left) with a modern SOLAR PANEL (right) ...
... It works! 0 Ω = full scale, BUT: OHM-CALIBRATION is different.
D A T A SOLAR PANEL ( in sun light ) U0 = 3 Volt / IK = 1 mA
------------------------------------------------------------------------
For SOLAR EXPERIMENTS use ( + ) ( ) ( - ) JACKS on the right side
The NEW Ω - CALIBRATION (= easy to remember !) ...
0 .5 1 2 3 4 5 6
|-------+------+-------+------+-----+----+---|
∞ 200k 100k 50k ... 25k 12k 0 Ω
===>> 400 x 6 = 2400 LUX
TEST as a LUX-Meter: Shortcut the Ω Plugs, use Factor about ( x 400 )
!! A T T E N T I O N !! A T T E N T I O N !! A T T E N T I O N !!

When opening the »METRAVO« be aware of LITTLE SPHERE & SPRING in front!
