If not, push it to the right to release the lock and move it from (S) SUBTRACTION to (A). Pull and turn the little crank on the right side clockwise one rotation. ENTER A NUMBER: --------------- Use a pen and pull-down the appropriate number. Depending of the left vertical lever on front, the input is (A) ADDED or (S) SUBTRACTED. The result is visible in the arithmetic unit. INPUT CHECK: ------------ When the lever on the right side is set counter-clockwise, the input will stay and show the number entered in the lower display. Before entering a new number, press the bar on front to release the input segments. If the lever is set clockwise, the release bar on front is locked down and each input segment snaps back immediately. NEGATIVE RESULTS: ----------------- Negative results are displayed in the arithmetic unit as the COMPLEMENT of the next higher 10, 100, 1000, ... Example: -12 = 9...988 As with all OLD RESULTAs, this »BS7« get blocked, when a neg. number is entered as a start value ( because too many 10s-Carries are involved ).
