From the   I N S T R U C T I O N S   printed in the bottom:

 EXAMPLE:  How many cubic yards of concrete in a wall 9" thick,
           18' high and 50' long?
  ANSWER:  25 cubic yards.
SOLUTION:  Find 9" on scale A connected to 18' on scale B,
           then connected to 50' on scale C read 25 on scale D.
