HISTORICAL REMARKS:

The  WANDERER WERKE AG  of Saxony/Germany started as a bicycle repair
shop  » CHEMNITZER VELOCIPED-DEPOT WINKLHOFER & JAENICKE «  in 1885.
In 1896 the first BIKE under the name »WANDERER« was build.
In 1902 the first »WANDERER« MOTORCYCLE with 1.5 hp was launched.
In 1904 the first TYPEWRITER under the name »CONTINENTAL« came out.
        In 1933 the Model »34«, then »35«, »50« and in 1938 »100«.
        They were sold all over the world and they are well known
        to belong to the best typewriters ever made.
In 1911 the first "compact"CAR with 4-cyl / 1.15 L / 12 hp was build:
        A 2-seater under the name  » WANDERER-PUEPPCHEN «
In 1916 the first »CONTINENTAL« ADDING MACHINE was made.
In 1932 the motor car department was taken over by  AUTO UNION AG
( today »AUDI« ).  Before WWII  WANDERER  was Europe's largest office
machine company.  After WWII the company became a GDR-run business...
