Limbe

Just a "taxi-drop" away from busy Douala is Limbe, a little sea-side town on foot of Mount Cameroon.

It's a must-go and the complete opposite of Kribi's white sand beaches. Not only has Limbe got the astonishing surroundings of palmtree-covered hills and the amazing Mount Cameroon who seem to rise just next to the sea but also its black sand beaches due to former lava eruptions make it a special place.

Of course its location makes it a favourite holiday spot on the weekend for people living in Douala. Especially in the dry season from the midth of november till march you should be prepared.
